William was born on August 27th, 1889.  William's father was Thomas Lewis Stiles and his mother is Addah Godby.  His paternal grandparents were David Stiles Jr. and Martha Daugherty.  He had a brother and three sisters, named Thomas, Stella, Lida and Ida.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 95 on June 15th, 1985.
