Randolph was born on November 17th, 1888.  Randolph's father was James Lewis Shipley and his mother is Alice Emma Peverly.  His paternal grandparents were Randolph  Selmon Shipley and Somira Ellen Stiles.  He had four brothers named Peverly, James, Matthew and Gerald.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  He died at 10 months old on October 7th, 1889.
