Margaret was born on September 11th, 1916.  Margaret's father was Gerald Knox Shipley and her mother is Ruth Sheets.  Her paternal grandfather was James Lewis Shipley and her paternal grandmother is Alice Emma Peverly.  She has a brother and a sister, named Marshall and Ruth.  She is the oldest of the three children.
