Maggie was born on November 14th, 1869.  Maggie's father was Randolph  Selmon Shipley and her mother was Somira Ellen Stiles.  Her maternal grandparents were David Stiles Jr. and Melory Goodman.  She had seven brothers and five sisters, named David, James, William, Joe, Robert, Charles, John, Bettie, Minerva, Sally, Cora and Laura.  She is the tenth oldest of the thirteen children.
