Karen was born on April 29th, 1955.  Karen's father is Marshall Randolph Shipley and her mother is Norma Geiser.  Her paternal grandfather was Gerald Knox Shipley and her paternal grandmother is Ruth Sheets.  She has a brother and a sister, named Gerald and Marsha.  She is the youngest of the three children.
