Judith was born on November 27th, 1938.  Judith's father is John Stiles Shipley and her mother is Dorothy Swymer.  Her paternal grandfather was John Selmon Shipley and her paternal grandmother is Sally Gross.  She has two brothers and two sisters, named John, Robert, Jo and Mary.  She is the youngest of the five children.
