Dorothy was born on March 11th, 1922.  Dorothy's father is William Lewis Shipley and her mother is Sudie P. Taber.  Her paternal grandparents were David Elias Shipley and Ellen Miller.  She has three brothers and two sisters, named William, David, Garland, Ella and Evelyn.  She is the youngest of the six children.
