Bryon was born on August 24th, 1913.  Bryon's father was John Selmon Shipley and his mother is Sally Gross.  His paternal grandparents were Randolph  Selmon Shipley and Somira Ellen Stiles.  He has four brothers named Allen, John, Charles and Billy.  He is the fourth oldest of the five children.
