Somira was born on April 15th, 1893.  Somira's father is Clarence Pumphrey and her mother is Sarah (Sally) Eliza Shipley.  Her maternal grandparents were Randolph  Selmon Shipley and Somira Ellen Stiles.  She has three sisters named Edna, Mary and Lillian.  She is the second oldest of the four children.
