Robert was born on March 1st, 1955.  Robert's father is George William Pirtle Jr. and his mother is Bobbie Sherwood.  His paternal grandparents are George William Pirtle and El Freda Beulah Taylor.  He has a brother and two sisters, named James, Jeanann and Lynne.  He is the oldest of the four children.  He has a half-brother named George.
