Mary was born on March 1st, 1946.  Mary's father was Thomas Louis Pirtle Jr. and her mother is Vivian Elaine Weldon.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Louis Pirtle and Laura Thomas Shipley.  She has two sisters named Thomas and Vivian.  She is the youngest of the three children.
