Martha, known as Dixie, was born in 1861.  Dixie's father was Columbus Klinglesmith and her mother was Malora (Annie) Ann Stiles.  Her maternal grandparents were David Stiles Jr. and Martha Daugherty.  She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Noah, David, Robert, Thomas, Abraham, Ambrose, John, George, Katie, Mary and Minnie.  She is the second oldest of the twelve children.
