Connie was born on September 4th, 1957.  Connie's father is Murrel Thomas Carter and her mother is Elizabeth Sue Shipley.  Her maternal grandfather was Justus Shipley and her maternal grandmother is LaVerne May.  She has a brother and two sisters, named Charles, Kimberly and Cristi.  She is the second oldest of the four children.
