Lee was born in 1870.  Lee's father was Darius Willett and his mother was Mary Wadley.  His paternal grandparents were Griffith Willett and Rhoda Stiles.  He had four brothers and four sisters, named Rhoda, Bud, Bascome, Archie, Victoria, Suda, Maggie and Callie.  He was the oldest of the nine children.  He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Henry, Robert, Mary and Hettie.  He died by stillbirth or at birth at the age of 30 in 1900.
