Willett was born on July 31st, 1877.  Willett's father is Cadwallader (C.W.) Willett Rush and his mother was Rhoda Belle Bland.  His maternal grandparents were Elijah Bland and Corrilla Willett.  He had three brothers and five sisters, named James, Elijah, Arthur, Minnie, Annie, Mattie, Louise and Winniefred.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 71 on May 12th, 1949 in Louisville, KY.  His burial was in in Lexington, KY.
