Mary was born on July 8th, 1905.  Mary's father is James (J.L.) Lafayette Ragsdale and her mother was Amanda (Callie) Caldonia Willett.  Her maternal grandparents were Darius Willett and Mary Wadley.  She had five brothers and two sisters, named Arthur, David, Cecil, Lawrence, Vernon, Lucy and Alma.  She is the third oldest of the eight children.
