Caroline, known as Carrie, was born on August 17th, 1847.  Carrie's father is Wash Thomas and her mother was Susan Ann Stiles.  Her maternal grandfather was Lewis Stiles.  She had four brothers and two sisters, named Middleton, George, John, Stiles, Anne and Susan.  She has a half-brother named Lewis.
