William was born on November 1st, 1872.  William's father was Sam Phillips Stiles and his mother was Anna Grundy Huston.  His paternal grandfather was Ogden Willett Stiles and his paternal grandmother is Lizzie Phillips.  He had two brothers and a sister, named Lewis, Alfred and Elizabeth.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 64 on June 9th, 1937.
