Carrie was born in 1886.  Carrie's father was Lewis Ogden Stiles and her mother is Nannie Chenault.  Her paternal grandfather was Kitchell Mathias Stiles and her paternal grandmother is Caroline Hobbs.  She had two brothers and a sister, named Stephen, Lewis and Edna.  She is the oldest of the four children.
