Walace was born on March 17th, 1911.  Walace's father was Wesley Wallace Peterson and his mother is Vienna Miller.  His paternal grandfather is Dr. Henry Buckler Peterson and his paternal grandmother was Mary Ellen Beall.  He has a brother and four sisters, named Henry, Mary, Gladys, Mabel and Lora.  He is the fifth oldest of the six children.
