Owen was born on October 29th, 1937.  Owen's father is Henry Hardin Peterson and his mother was Lena Ford.  His paternal grandfather was Wesley Wallace Peterson and his paternal grandmother is Vienna Miller.  He had two brothers and three sisters, named John, infant son, Julia, Laura and Mary.  He was the fifth oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 1 in 1938.
