Mary was born on February 13th, 1936.  Mary's father is Henry Hardin Peterson and her mother was Lena Ford.  Her paternal grandfather was Wesley Wallace Peterson and her paternal grandmother is Vienna Miller.  She had three brothers and two sisters, named John, Owen, infant son, Julia and Laura.  She is the fourth oldest of the six children.
