Laura was born on July 25th, 1934.  Laura's father is Henry Hardin Peterson and her mother was Lena Ford.  Her paternal grandfather was Wesley Wallace Peterson and her paternal grandmother is Vienna Miller.  She had three brothers and two sisters, named John, Owen, infant son, Julia and Mary.  She is the third oldest of the six children.
