Thomas was born on July 21st, 1962.  Thomas' father is Andrew January Grundy and his mother is Margaret Carter LaRue.  His maternal grandparents were Joe LaRue and Mina Beall Wilson.  He has three brothers named Andrew, Joseph and John.  He is the youngest of the four children.
