Joseph was born on September 19th, 1953.  Joseph's father is Andrew January Grundy and his mother is Margaret Carter LaRue.  His maternal grandparents were Joe LaRue and Mina Beall Wilson.  He has three brothers named Andrew, John and Thomas.  He is the second oldest of the four children.
