Hugh was born on August 28th, 1914.  Hugh's father was Chalen Harlan Stiles and his mother is Mary Amy Spalding.  His paternal grandparents were John Calvin Stiles and Elizabeth Carter.  He had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Patrick, Elizabeth, Jessie, Helena, Catherine and Mary.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 49 on October 4th, 1963.
