Marguerite was born in 1892.  Marguerite's father was Joseph  Maxwell Tarkington and her mother is Rue Irvine.  Her paternal grandfather is William Lawson Tarkington and her paternal grandmother was Julia Etta Maxwell.  She had four brothers and three sisters, named Irvine, Julian, James, Lee, Mariah, Laura and Amelia.  She had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Joseph , James, William, Robert, Carl, Julietta, Jennie and Annie.  She died at the age of 89 in 1981 in Lexington, KY..
