Jennie was born in 1870.  Jennie's father was Joseph  Maxwell Tarkington and her mother is Susan Caldwell.  Her paternal grandfather is William Lawson Tarkington and her paternal grandmother was Julia Etta Maxwell.  She had five brothers and two sisters, named Joseph , James, William, Robert, Carl, Julietta and Annie.  She had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Irvine, Julian, James, Lee, Mariah, Marguerite, Laura and Amelia.  She died at the age of 53 in 1923.  Her burial was in Hustonville Cemetery.
