Virginia was born in 1900.  Virginia's father was John Bergan Dinwiddie and her mother was Jennie Tarkington.  Her maternal grandfather was Joseph  Maxwell Tarkington and her maternal grandmother is Susan Caldwell.  She had three brothers and two sisters, named Calvin, Claude, John, Susan and Lucille .  She was the fifth oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 61 in 1961.
