Susan was born in 1888.  Susan's father was John Bergan Dinwiddie and her mother was Jennie Tarkington.  Her maternal grandfather was Joseph  Maxwell Tarkington and her maternal grandmother is Susan Caldwell.  She had three brothers and two sisters, named Calvin, Claude, John, Lucille  and Virginia.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 58 in 1946 in Los Angeles.
