William Kitchell Stiles

William was born in 1842. William's father was Demas Stiles and his mother was Margaret Ann Owsley. He had four brothers and a sister, named David, Henry, John, Demas and Nancy. He was the youngest of the six children. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James, Francis, Charles, George, Mary, Arabella, Sallie and Eliza. He died at the age of 77 in 1919.

General Notes
- He was born in Johnson Co., MO, the first of Demas' children to have been born there. He died in the home of his niece, Mrs. Lucy Cooper Wilcox. He served in the Southern Army in the Civil War. In 1865 he went to St. Claire Co., MO and farmed with his brother Demas, Jr. In 1875 he went west and spent a number of years in Oregon, California and Colorado. When Oklahoma was thrown open for settlement, he homesteaded there on land which he later sold to his nephew, Lee Doyal. He then returned to Missouri and spent the last twenty years of his life among his relatives. He never married.
