Nancy Stiles

Nancy was born in 1834. Nancy's father was Demas Stiles and her mother was Margaret Ann Owsley. She had five brothers named David, Henry, John, Demas and William. She was the third oldest of the six children. She had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James, Francis, Charles, George, Mary, Arabella, Sallie and Eliza. She died at the age of 75 in 1909.

- born in LaRue Co, KY. Nancy married Henry Cooper, a large landholder in Johnson Co, MO. He owned and operted 1100 acres of fine land. She was a woman of vigorous health and strong character and was of great assistance to her enterprising husband. She lived in late years with her daughter, Lucy wilcox, in Windsor, MO. Nancy and Henry's home, built in 1860, was considered the finest country home in Johnson Co., MO, at the time. This home still stands well preserved and the tract of land on which it stands is owned and operated by Leland and Adlia Cooper, grandsons.
