Velma was born on November 27th, 1910.  Velma's father is John Deskin Z. Sisson and her mother was Erna Vivian Sisson.  Her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Wellington Sisson and Isabella Stiles.  She had a brother and a sister, named Deskin and Zola.  She is the second oldest of the three children.
