Jefferson was born on July 28th, 1861.  Jefferson's father is Henry Cooper and his mother was Nancy Stiles.  His maternal grandparents were Demas Stiles and Margaret Ann Owsley.  He had four brothers and four sisters, named David, George, William, John, Elizabeth, Margaret, Lucy and Leona.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 72 on February 14th, 1934.
