Barbara was born on December 6th, 1936.  Barbara's father is Richard Armstead and her mother is Helen Genevieve Stiles.  Her maternal grandparents are Everett Charles Stiles and Mabelle P. Gunerius.  She has three brothers named Lester, Richard and Edward.  She is the third oldest of the four children.
