Ruth was born on February 1st, 1915.  Ruth's father was Claude Whitaker and her mother was Elizabeth Glover  Beeler.  Her maternal grandparents were Joseph Washington Beeler and Sallie Glover.  She had two brothers named Joe and Glover.  She is the oldest of the three children.
