Joe was born on October 10th, 1917.  Joe's father was Claude Whitaker and his mother was Elizabeth Glover  Beeler.  His maternal grandparents were Joseph Washington Beeler and Sallie Glover.  He had a brother and a sister, named Glover and Ruth.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 1 on June 18th, 1919.
