Christianna Stiles

Christy Ann Stiles

Christianna was born on March 8th, 1842. Christianna's father was Charles Stiles. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Abraham, Lewis, Jacob, Charles, Mary, Rebecca and Emily. She was the youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 84 on August 1st, 1926.

Death Notes
- inherited her father's home and the farm that is now known as the Gaddie Place

General Notes
- Married John T. Gaddie on Mar 7, 1867. She and her father are the subject of the 2005 newsletter. To all of us who grew up in Stiles, Ky, she was a bit of a legend. She was so much a southern sympathizer that she was said to spit on the statue of Abe Lincoln whenever she was in Hodgenville, Ky. Other stories tell how she saved the home her father had built from being burned by flirting with the Yankee soldier who would have burned it.
