Mary was born on October 11th, 1934.  Mary's father was Jack Gipson and her mother is Fern Iola Mangold.  Her maternal grandfather is Walter Mangold and her maternal grandmother was Mary Emma Thomas.  She has a brother and a sister, named Tommie and Zettie.  She is the second oldest of the three children.  She has two half-sisters named Teresa and Stefanie.
