Edwin was born on June 8th, 1961.  Edwin's father is Robert Edward Blankenship and his mother is Norma Faye Porter.  His maternal grandparents are Eldred Stanley Porter and Londa Oost.  He had two brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Joel, Laura and Martha.  He is the oldest of the five children.
