Barbara was born on October 16th, 1955.  Barbara's father is Fleming Ashton and her mother is Bessie Gertrude Thomas.  Her maternal grandparents were Charles Louis Thomas and Beulah  Rodgers.  She has two brothers and a sister, named Charles, James and Helen.  She is the youngest of the four children.
