Robert was born on February 1st, 1923.  Robert's father is Charles Lewis Stiles and his mother is Lee Miller.  His paternal grandfather was Chalen Stiles and his paternal grandmother is Rhoda Ellen Tandy.  He had two brothers and a sister, named Raymond, Charles and Louise.  He is the third oldest of the four children.
