Chalen Stiles

Chalen was born in 1798. He died at the age of 80 in 1878.

General Notes
- Chalen (whose name might have been spelled as Chilion, or Chillion, or Chalon, or Chalean) was born in New Jersey, and made the trek with his family to Kentucky when he was 11 years old. What an adventure that must have been to an 11 year old boy!!
  
  George Washington was inaugerated in 1789, so our country, complete with a president was only 9 years old when Chalen was born.
  
  I decided to spell his name "Chalen", since I have a son who is named for him and for my great uncle Chalen, so I have used the same spelling that we used for my son's name.
  
  I suspect that Chalen moved away from the Stiles Valley and lived in either Marion or Taylor County. I would like to hear from some of his descendants to find out for sure.
  
  I am told (05/10/2010) that he resided in LaRue Co., KY
