James was born on October 28th, 1955.  James' father is Lloyd Estel Shipp and his mother is Charlotte Ann Reynolds.  His maternal grandparents are Floyd Richard Reynolds and Ora Edna Shipp.  He has three brothers named Timothy, Robert and Michael.  He is the oldest of the four children.
